Brittney Coppa Knee Injury Against Team USA

The senior leader and preseason Tewaaraton Award finalist Brittney Coppa went down at the end of the first half against Team USA. I did not get to see the play but I will watch a replay tonight on ESPNU. During the second half Coppa was sitting on the UNC bench with a full length knee brace on. Her leg was also elevated on a chair in front of her. With a brace this size the injury could be anything. We can only hope it is not an ACL, MCL or PCL.

As mentioned, i did not get a chance to see the injury. After I watch the replay tonight I will give further details as to what the injury “could” be and how long Coppa is likely to be out. I will also keep you posted as soon as I hear word from the UNC staff. It looks as if Maggie Bill is going to step up in her place and she showed her leadership during the game against Team USA. It is amazing to see a freshman take the leadership role in such a big game. The regular season for the Tar Heels does not start until Saturday, February 8th, 2014 vs the University of Florida Gators. If you know anything about Brittney’s injury please feel free to comment below with sources.
