Alyssa Murray Leads Syracuse Women’s Lacrosse to 25-0 Win

In the first game of the ESPN World Wide of Sports lacrosse weekend the Syracuse Orange dominated. They were up 17-0 at the half as Alyssa Murray lead the team with 5 points. When it was all said and done the Orange went on to take a 25-0 victory which was only their third shutout in program history. If that were not enough, it was the most goals scored in a single game by the Orange. The team from Syracuse is going to be tough to beat this year. Murray and Treanor are going to score a ton of goals.

It will be interesting to see how this team reacts to an increase in competition level. That will not happen for another month which is when the Orange will travel to Charlottesville to take on the University of Virginia. UVA had one of the best recruiting classes in the nation and they definitely know how to slow down a team. Syracuse will play Canisius on February 16th in the Carrier Dome but that should be another easy victory.

Syracuse will take on Maryland on March 10th, 2014 in the Carrier Dome which is sure to be a Final Four preview. If Treanor and Murray can stay healthy this is going to be one of the most fun teams to watch in recent memory. They scored 21 and 25 in their first two games of the season on the Florida road trip.
